LEVELLING SURVEY -This is a type of survey  that is used to determine the elevation of points on the earth's surface relative to a specific datum. This course is crucial for various construction and engineering projects.

Unit road construction involves a series of systematic processes aimed at building roads that meet specific engineering and safety standards.

  1. Planning and Design: This phase includes surveying the area, designing the road layout, and determining materials and construction methods.

  2. Site Preparation: Clearing the site of vegetation, debris, and obstacles. This may involve grading and excavation to create a stable foundation.

  3. Subgrade Preparation: Compacting the natural soil or creating a subbase layer to provide a solid support for the road.

  4. Base Layer Installation: Laying down a base course, usually made of crushed stone or gravel, which distributes loads and provides drainage.

  5. Pavement Construction: Applying the surface material, which can be asphalt or concrete, depending on the road type and expected traffic loads.

  6. Finishing Works: Installing curbs, gutters, drainage systems, signage, and markings to ensure safety and usability.

  7. Quality Control and Inspection: Conducting tests to ensure that materials and construction meet specifications.
